Publication of Nordic RCC Annual Report 2024
We are pleased to announce the publication of Nordic RCC A/S’s Annual Report 2024. This report represents a year of maturation. In 2024, Nordic RCC has laid its foundations, shifted its focus to operational readiness for new critical services and gained valuable experience in its activities.
This report fulfils the regulatory requirements for an Annual Report for an RCC. It also attempts to communicate the complexity of Nordic RCC’s work and the role we play in enabling the green energy transition by providing valuable services and insights to TSOs.
The report is divided into three main sections:
The Management Review tells the story of who we are and includes thoughts from our CEO and Chairperson. It also includes our first Sustainability Report.
The Task Monitoring section explains the tasks we perform and implement, and reports on the outcome of our monitoring obligation to meet the requirements of Article 46 of EU Regulation 2019/943 on the internal electricity market.
The Financial Statements reports on our financial progress and is prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Milestones of 2024
With this report, we hope you will get to know Nordic RCC better and learn how our work contributes to the green energy transition and security of supply.
Most notably for 2024, Nordic RCC has completed key tasks for the launch of the Day-ahead Flow-based Capacity Calculation in the Nordic region. This is the result of years of preparation and development and marks one of the biggest changes in the history of the Nordic electricity market.
Nordic RCC also reached an important milestone with the formal launch of the first version of the Coordinated Security Analysis service, also referred to as CSA “light”, this year
At the European level, the Regional Incident Analysis and Reporting service was activated for the first time in 2024, and this time the RCC analysis and reporting was led by Nordic RCC.
Achievements made in collaboration
Nordic RCC is a small but important part of providing secure, efficient and transparent electricity systems in the Nordic region and Europe, and we are proud of what Nordic RCC has managed to achieve in the past year. These achievements have been realised by our dedicated and skilled employees and consultants.
However, we can only succeed and thrive in collaboration with the Nordic TSOs, our ecosystem and our partners, who help us achieve our goals in all areas of the organisation. Introducing the Flow-based method only highlights the importance of Nordic coordination and collaboration.
