Publication of SvK network element names begins May 12th 2026

Svenska kraftnät has previously announced that the names of network elements in the power system will be made public as part of the flow-based capacity calculation. The publication of names will begin May 12th.

– The Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (N-RCC) has now completed the necessary preparations for the publication. Starting May 12th, the names of capacity-setting network elements will be made available via the Joint Allocation Office (JAO), says Pontus de Maré, Senior Vice President System Operation at Svenska kraftnät.

The first publication will be made for the preliminary flow-based domain, which is published in the evening on May 12th for the delivery day May 14th.

Increased transparency for market participants
Svenska kraftnät informed in March that the names of capacity-setting network elements in the power system will be made public. Capacity-setting network elements are, for example, facility components or power lines that set the physical limits for the transmission capacity.

By making the names of these network elements public, better conditions are created for market participants to analyze the transmission capacity in the power system and thus make more effective decisions.

Historical domains
Svenska kraftnät will not republish historical domains again as it is a resource-intensive process. The historical domains are already published in anonymized form on the JAO platform.

To still enable transparent analysis of historical domains, the N-RCC will make de-anonymization keys on the Swedish network elements public. This will make it possible for anyone to link anonymized grid elements to actual objects also on historical data. Such keys will be published on the NRCC website on May 13th. Svenska kraftnät will provide a link as well from svk.se.
