Nordic RCC Hosts Successful Annual Stakeholder Meeting in Copenhagen

For the second consecutive year, the Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (Nordic RCC) hosted its Annual Stakeholder Meeting in Copenhagen. The event brought together National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), industry stakeholders, and representatives from Member States to discuss the organization’s work, task implementation progress, and future plans.

Highlights of the day

The day commenced with a warm welcome from Nordic RCC’s CEO, Henrik Kofod. Participants then engaged in a retrospective session, reviewing the past year through the presentation of the 2023 Annual Report. The report highlighted key achievements and challenges faced by the organization.

The second part of the meeting focused on the current status of Nordic RCC’s tasks. Attendees gained insights into task development and operational aspects, with a special emphasis on preparing for new tasks in 2024. Notably, discussions delved into two critical services: the Coordinated Security Analysis (CSA) and the Common Grid Model (CGM).

During the last session of the day the attendees discussed future developments that could affect electricity system operation in general and Nordic RCCs' work specifically. Topics ranged from co-optimization of capacity allocation across different timeframes to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and extreme weather events.

Gratitude and Anticipation

Nordic RCC extends its gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and insightful contributions. The organization looks forward to hosting another successful meeting next year.
